With the highly recommended security update 3.0.4 recently released, all of us in the WordPress world are waiting for the official release of 3.1.
One of the great things about Open Source software is the ability to have thousands, if not millions, of people working on detecting bugs, suggesting features, and contributing to expanding its functionality through plugins, themes, extensions, and the like. The WordPress team is unique in that it’s a full time crew of great folks who have a long-term roadmap and are committed to help release regular updates and patches to ensure all our sites are secure and stable across hundreds of hardware, software, and operating system variations.
On top of that, the ability to customize themes or program plugins give you free license, both functionally and creatively, to create any kind of website to serve any kind of audience.
Te great thing about this for “regular folk” is that it’s super simple to maintain content – indeed, you need some degree of website wizardry to create a site, but when designers like myself create sites for our customers, it’s great to know they can claim ownership and edit content as often as they like.
In short, WordPress rocks!

I’d also like to give a shout-out to all of my customers and thank you for allowing me the privilege of helping your business, church, or ministry, create your website last year.
Here’s to a great 2011!
